Mars stands for energy, courage, conflict and action. It turns retrograde only once every two years, for roughly two to two and a half months, so each period is significant: drive turns inward, projects stall or are redone, and old disputes resurface. In Jyotish the advice is to finish battles already begun and avoid starting new ones, surgery and property deals if they can wait.
